How Lens Replacement Works
Replacing the lenses in your existing glasses is simple. You can configure your new lenses online using the Al-Aziz Optical Lens Studio, while our team checks the final prescription and frame suitability before production.
1. Build Your Replacement Lenses Online
Select Build My New Lenses to open the Al-Aziz Optical Lens Studio.
You can choose the type of vision correction you need and configure your lenses according to how you use your glasses.
The Lens Studio guides you through the available options step by step.
2. Provide Your Prescription
You can provide your glasses prescription in whichever way is easiest for you:
Enter your prescription manually
Upload a photo or copy of your prescription
Send your prescription after ordering
If you don’t know your Pupillary Distance (PD), you can leave it for our team to confirm before lens production.
If you’re unsure about any part of your prescription, upload it instead of guessing the values.
3. Choose Your Lens Material and Finish
Choose the lens material that best suits your prescription, frame and preferences.
Depending on your prescription and lens selection, available materials may include:
1.56 Standard
1.59 impact-resistant lens material
1.60 Thin
1.67 Extra Thin
1.74 Ultra Thin
You can then choose from the available lens finishes, coatings, adaptive lenses and sun-lens options.
Final material and lens suitability are reviewed before production.
4. Review and Place Your Order
The Lens Studio shows your selected lens design, prescription method, material, lens option and applicable price before you proceed.
Review your configuration and place your order online.
If your prescription requires a specialised or custom lens that changes availability or pricing, our team will contact you before production.
5. Send or Drop Off Your Frame
After checkout, Al-Aziz Optical will contact you with instructions for sending or dropping off your glasses.
Please wait for our confirmation before dispatching your frame.
Where possible, send the complete glasses with the existing lenses still fitted and pack them securely inside a protective case.
6. We Inspect Your Frame and Fit the New Lenses
Every customer-supplied frame is inspected before reglazing.
Once suitability is confirmed, our optical team will:
Remove the existing lenses
Inspect the frame and fittings
Prepare and edge your new lenses
Fit the replacement lenses into your frame
Verify the prescription and fitting
Inspect the completed glasses before dispatch
Your finished glasses are then packed securely and returned to you.
When Should You Replace Your Lenses?
You may want to replace the lenses in your glasses if:
- Your prescription has changed
- Your lenses are scratched
- Your lenses have damaged coatings
- Your current lenses feel too thick
- You want better anti-glare lenses
- You want photochromic lenses
- You want prescription sunglasses
- You now require progressive lenses
- Your frame is still in good condition but your lenses need upgrading
If you are happy with your current frame, replacing the lenses can be a convenient way to continue using it
Can You Put New Lenses in Any Frame?
Many existing glasses can be fitted with new prescription lenses, but every frame needs to be assessed before reglazing.
The condition, construction, age and design of the frame can affect whether replacement lenses can be fitted safely.
When we receive your glasses, Al-Aziz Optical will inspect the frame before lens production. We may check for:
Cracks or weakened frame material
Loose or damaged hinges
Bent or distorted rims
Damaged screws or fittings
Wear around the lens groove
Suitability for the selected lens material and prescription
Full-rim, semi-rimless and rimless glasses may have different fitting requirements.
If your frame, prescription or chosen lens configuration requires a different solution, our team will contact you before proceeding.
